In a chilling incident in Samta Nagar, Dighori, under the jurisdiction of Wathoda Police Station, a 55-year-old man, Pandhari Rajaram Hattimare, has been apprehended for allegedly killing his 22-year-old son, Mohit Hattimare, during a dispute over alcohol.
The incident occurred on the evening of October 17, when Mohit reportedly asked his father for money to buy liquor. After Pandhari refused, the argument escalated, and in a fit of rage, Pandhari struck Mohit multiple times on the head with a wooden stick. Mohit collapsed from his injuries and succumbed to them shortly after.
In an attempt to cover up the crime, Pandhari, with the assistance of his elder son, Tushar Hattimare, 24, cleaned the bloodstains from the scene. The following morning, they informed their relatives of Mohit’s death and quickly performed his last rites at Dighori cremation ground, destroying all evidence, including Mohit’s blood-stained clothes and bedding.
Acting on a tip-off, Wathoda Police visited the scene and discovered traces of blood. During interrogation, Pandhari confessed to the crime, prompting the police to summon forensic experts for a detailed investigation. The charred remains of Mohit were also collected for further analysis.
Pandhari and Tushar Hattimare have been taken into custody on charges of murder, conspiracy, and destruction of evidence.
