Nagpur: Sitabuldi Police seized ₹7.93 lakh in unaccounted cash from a man suspected of violating the Model Code of Conduct for the 2024 Assembly elections. On Wednesday, October 23, Umesh Ramsingh Aidban, 50, was apprehended at Maharajbagh Square while riding a red Passion Pro motorcycle. During a search, authorities found cash bundled in ₹500 and ₹200 notes in his motorcycle’s trunk.
The total seizure, including the motorcycle, amounted to ₹8.08 lakh. Election officials were informed for further investigation, and the cash was deposited in the police station’s evidence room.
The operation was conducted by Sitabuldi Police under the guidance of senior police officials, including Commissioner Ravindra Singal and DCP Rahul Madne.
