A 26-year-old woman lost Rs 1.59 lakh to cyber crooks who tricked her into updating the address for a parcel. Officers reported that the woman was at home on October 4 when she received a call from someone claiming a parcel had arrived in her name.
The caller told the woman that the delivery address was wrong and needed to be changed if she wanted the parcel. The caller then sent a link to the woman’s mobile and asked her to fill in the details. As soon as the woman filled in the information, Rs 1.59 lakh was taken from her bank account. Finally, the woman approached Mankapur police station and registered a case of fraud.
