Dr Harkishan Mamtani, a neuropsychiatrist from Nagpur, was selected for the prestigious Overseas Bursary Award by the Neuropsychiatry Faculty of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, London. This award was conferred upon him at the hands of the Chair of Neuropsychiatry Faculty at the annual conference held at the Royal College of Psychiatrists in London. The award was given in recognition of his distinct contribution to psychiatry.
Dr Harkishan, who completed his MD and postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychiatry from the renowned NIMHANS, Bengaluru, also holds the MRCPsych from the UK. His expertise, with over 25 research papers published in leading national and international journals, places him at the forefront of mental health innovation. At the London conference, Dr Harkishan presented his research on psychogenic non-epileptic seizures. This award comes on the heels of another international honour—Dr. Harkishan received the ‘Young Investigator Award’ from the World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry earlier this year in Turkey.
