In light of the upcoming assembly elections, the police have intensified their vigilance against increasing drug traffickers in the city. Special sniffer dogs have been deployed to inspect every private bus coming from Pune and Mumbai. The dog unit is conducting daily inspections of the buses.
Private buses and trains are often used for transporting drugs within the city. This issue came to the attention of Police Commissioner Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singhal. For several months, drugs have been arriving in Nagpur from Pune and Mumbai. Many traffickers use parcel services in private buses or transport drugs and cannabis via trains.
To combat this type of drug trafficking, the Police Commissioner has deployed special sniffer dogs. Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police Mahak Swami from the Third Division, inspections of private buses by the sniffer dog unit have begun.
