As part of an intensified Diwali enforcement campaign, Nagpur Traffic Police issued a total of 8,933 challans over two days, cracking down on drivers violating various traffic regulations under the Motor Vehicles Act. On October 31, officers took action against 4,993 drivers, collecting Rs. 81,700 in fines, while on November 1, another 3,940 violators were penalized, bringing in Rs. 54,700.
The extensive campaign, carried out across the city, aimed to boost road safety during the festive period. Police have emphasized that traffic rules will be strictly enforced moving forward and have urged all drivers to adhere to regulations and carry proper documentation.
