Maratha reservation movement leader Manoj Jarange withdrew from the Maharashtra Assembly Elections and appealed to Maratha candidates to withdraw.
Jarange said that none of the friendly parties submitted their lists till Monday morning. He announced that he would not field any candidate from any constituency, as they cannot win only one caste basis.
His movement for the reservation to the Maratha community, however, would continue. He had the list of candidates and their constituencies till 3.30 am. However, none others submitted the list to support his candidates. He cannot fight only with the support of one community and therefore withdraw from the elections. This is not running away from elections, but a political move, he added.
