A significant oversight involving an unlocked door has resulted in a burglary at a residence in Sant Gulab Baba Math Colony along Great Nag Road, with cash and gold jewelry valued at approximately Rs 9.81 lakh stolen. The incident took place between the afternoon of November 1 and the early hours of November 2, falling within the jurisdiction of Kotwali Police Station.
According to the complaint filed by Seema Suresh Meshram, 48, her eldest son returned home late and inadvertently left the door unlocked. Taking advantage of this oversight, an unidentified thief entered the residence, forced open a wardrobe locker, and made off with gold jewelry and Rs 3.5 lakh in cash.
Kotwali Police registered the complaint on November 4 under Section 305 of the BNS and have launched an investigation to identify the perpetrator and recover the stolen items. Authorities are urging residents to ensure their doors are securely locked to prevent such incidents in the future.
