In a scathing attack on Bharatiya Janata Party and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi alleged both of attempting to dismantle the basic principles of the Constitution of India.
Gandhi alleged BJP and RSS of undermining the rights of the minorities and the marginalised communities provided in the Constitution. He was speaking during the ‘Samvidhan Sanman Sammelan’ in Nagpur. BJP and RSS are using narratives of ‘development, progress and economy’ to divert the attention from the hidden agenda of changing the Constitution.
The source of funding of Shishu Mandirs and Eklavya Schools should be made public. These institutions are being expended with a partisan agenda, he said.
Rahul Gandhi also alleged BJP and RSS of acquiring lands and building huge buildings with the financial support of corporate giants like Adani and Ambani.
Gandhi charged Prime Minister Narendra Modi with obstructing the caste-based census. He said he would pursue the demand for caste-based census and demanded reservation beyond 50 percent for equality, which is possible with the caste-based census. He also charged the NDA government of neglecting the debt-ridden farmers and favouring even defaulter corporates.
