The Election Department is focused on ensuring that every eligible voter can participate in the upcoming elections. Special initiatives are being implemented to support transgender voters in exercising their voting rights, with a total of 302 transgender voters registered across Nagpur district. Among these, the North Nagpur Assembly constituency has the highest number, with 104 registered transgender voters.
As per the final voter list, six assembly constituencies in Nagpur city have a combined total of 244 transgender voters. This includes 104 voters in North Nagpur, 40 in Nagpur Central, 32 in Nagpur East, 31 in Nagpur West, 29 in Nagpur South West, and 8 in Nagpur South.
In rural assembly constituencies, there are 58 transgender voters, distributed as follows: 6 in Katol, 2 in Savner, 29 in Hingna, 1 in Umred, 18 in Kamptee, and 2 in Ramtek.
To facilitate voting for all eligible citizens—including those with disabilities, senior citizens, and transgender voters—the Election Department is conducting awareness campaigns under the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) initiative. District Collector and Election Officer Dr. Vipin Itankar has appealed to transgender voters to actively participate in the elections and exercise their right to vote.
Nagpur district’s 12 assembly constituencies are set to vote on November 20, with results to be counted on November 23.
