NTPC Mouda commemorated the 50th NTPC Raising Day with an official ceremony celebrating five decades of excellence in the power sector. The event saw the hoisting of the NTPC flag, followed by NTPC Geet, an address by Shri D.R. Dehuri, Head of Project, cake-cutting, and a symbolic balloon release.
During his speech, Shri Dehuri highlighted NTPC’s remarkable journey from its inception with zero capacity to its current production of 76 GW, a testament to its significant contributions to India’s power landscape. He expressed pride in NTPC’s impact on local communities and the nation, emphasizing how NTPC’s growth has illuminated countless lives across India.
Shri Dehuri outlined NTPC’s evolving energy portfolio, encompassing coal, gas, hydro, and solar power, with an ambitious focus on renewable energy. He highlighted that by 2032, NTPC aims for nearly 50% of its generation capacity to come from non-fossil fuel sources. Presently, NTPC holds 17% of the national capacity and contributes 25% to India’s total power generation through its high-efficiency operations.
Highlighting NTPC Mouda’s accomplishments over the past financial year, Shri Dehuri noted its environmental initiatives, safety records, plant performance, and CSR efforts. A key achievement was the plantation of 71,000 trees, demonstrating NTPC’s commitment to sustainability and ESG goals.
He expressed gratitude to welfare clubs, unions, associations, CISF, NTPC Hospital, security and fire wing, contract workers, and employees. Special thanks were extended to coal suppliers, local communities, administrative bodies, railway networks, vendors, statutory authorities, and media partners for their enduring support.
The event saw the participation of Shri Subhashish Guha, GM (O&M), NTPC Mouda; Shri Manish Nipane, DC CISF, NTPC Mouda; Shri Prem Chand, GM (COE), NTPC Mouda; Shri Pradeep Balwant Paranjape, GM (Project), NTPC Mouda; Shri Harekrushna Jena, GM (Maintenance), NTPC Mouda; and Shri Sagar Ranjan Sahoo, Head of HR. The representatives of Welfare clubs, Union & Association, all head of departments, employees and contract workers were also present during the official ceremony of 50th NTPC Raising Day.
