The stock exchanges will remain closed for trading on Wednesday, November 20. In a notification dated November 8, the NSE stated, “The Exchange hereby notifies Wednesday, November 20, 2024, as a trading holiday on account of Assembly Elections in Maharashtra.”
Elections for Maharashtra’s 288-seat legislative assembly will take place on November 20, with vote counting scheduled three days later.
Stock exchanges are closed on Saturdays and Sundays, making this the third holiday of the month for traders. November 1 was also a holiday for Diwali, although a one-hour Muhurat trading session took place in the evening.
The market will also remain closed on November 15 in observance of Guru Nanak Jayanti.
