Delhi Public School, MIHAN, organized MIMUN 4.0 on November 9, 2024, with the theme “Solutions through Symposium, Sustainability, and Solidarity.” The event aimed to improve global understanding, collaboration, and critical thinking among future leaders. The grand opening took place at the school’s campus, which focuses on sustainable practices in the premises.
The grand opening was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Payal Thaorey, HOD of the Post-Graduate Teaching Department, Department of Law, RTMNU, Nagpur. The Guest of Honour, Ms. Tulika Kedia, President and Pro Vice-Chairperson of DPS MIHAN and Kamptee Road, Nagpur, along with Director Ms. Savita Jaiswal, joined the ceremony online, offering their blessings and encouraging the delegates for a stimulating conference.
On behalf of the school, Principal Ms. Nidhi Yadav welcomed the Chief Guest, dignitaries, and delegates. In her address, she encouraged the young delegates to approach global issues impartially and base their conclusions on factual evidence. The Chief Guest, in her address motivated the delegates to raise their hand to support others, voice the concerns of the unheard and understand the importance of inclusivity to create a better society with patience and empathy. She highlighted that with diplomacy as an art, involving oneself in brilliant deliberations and discussions on contemporary and local issues, one can work for the global good.
A total of 50 schools and colleges from all over the state are participating in MIMUN 4.0, with around 220 delegates representing the two days’ conference and will debate and deliberate on the agendas of the committees of UN such as UNHRC, UNICEF, UNCSW, ECOFIN, WHO as well as LOK SABHA and a fictitious committee JUJUTSU KAISEN to empower them with skills of diplomacy and take decisions through consensus. The diligent Secretariat under Secretary General Ms. Marvi Rathod is conducting the two day event.
