Coldplay has announced the date for their much-awaited concert in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, scheduled for January 25, 2025, at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The band called it their “biggest ever show,” fueling excitement on social media. However, alongside the excitement, some fans have expressed concerns over the sharp rise in hotel prices for the event.
One X user, Ujval Chopra, shared a video showing hotel prices shooting up to Rs. 50,000 on the day of the concert. “Thought I’ll book a hotel room and keep just in case I manage to get the tickets for Coldplay in Ahmedabad. The prices just skyrocketed,” Chopra said.
Another fan, Chayan Jain, compared prices from last year, revealing that a hotel room which cost Rs. 2,500 per night was now listed at Rs. 1.17 lakh for the same date. “What a jump in price after the Coldplay announcement,” Jain remarked.
Others also shared similar experiences, with one user pointing out that no hotel in Ahmedabad on January 24-25 was available for less than Rs. 50,000. “Pro-tip for people going to Coldplay: stay in Vadodara and commute to Ahmedabad,” they suggested. Another added, “When even miles don’t come to rescue. Hotel rates already skyrocketed for 25/26th in Ahmedabad.”
Coldplay’s post on X reads: “2025 AHMEDABAD DATE ANNOUNCED. The band will play their biggest ever show, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 25 January, 2025. Tickets on sale Saturday, 16 November at 12pm IST. Delivered by DHL.”
As part of their “Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025,” Coldplay will also perform in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, with Ahmedabad being the fourth stop on the tour.
