Motorists traveling between Kachipura Square and Lokshaheer Anna Bhau Sathe Square, known as Deekshabhoomi Square, are facing serious safety risks due to poor road restoration by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) water works department.
A pipeline installation near the signals at Deekshabhoomi Square has left the road uneven and hazardous, with a large pit posing a constant danger. Many have reported accidents as vehicles struggle to cross the patch, especially when the traffic signal turns green.
According to a media report, NMC officials admitted that the restoration was rushed ahead of a major event at Deekshabhoomi, leading to the current uneven surface. Although plans to concretize the road have been announced, no progress has been made, even a month after Dhammachakra Pravartan Din on October 14.
At night, the problem becomes worse as the pit is hard to see, leading to accidents, especially for two-wheeler riders. Commuters are asking authorities to fix the road quickly or at least put up barricades and warning signs to prevent mishaps.
Until proper repairs are done, this busy stretch remains unsafe, and the risk of serious accidents continues to grow.
