As Maharashtra prepares for Assembly elections scheduled for November 20, the city police intensified their crackdown on illegal activities. In a significant operation, the Ambazari Police seized 17 kilograms of gold and 55 kilograms of silver from a van on Campus Road on Saturday, November 16.
This seizure follows recent actions by the police, including the Tehsil police team confiscating ₹1.35 crore in cash and Unit 3 of the Crime Branch recovering gold jewelry worth ₹1.64 crore in the Imamwada area.
The intensified police vigilance comes amidst heightened security and monitoring to curb illegal activities during the election period. The results of the Maharashtra Assembly elections will be announced on November 23.
