In a bid to address more consumer grievances efficiently, the Maharashtra State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission plans to extend the working hours of the Consumer Forum. The new schedule will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, announced SP Tavade, President of the Commission, on Monday.
Tavade also revealed plans to install a complaint box at the Consumer Forum office, allowing consumers to submit grievances directly. Additionally, a control room will be set up soon to streamline operations and enhance accessibility for complainants.
The announcement was made during a meeting with a delegation comprising Shayamkant Patrikar, President of the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Nagpur; Liladhar Lohare, Secretary; Dr. Viplav Majumdar; Mukund Adewar; Advocate Pallavi Khaprikar; Prashant Lanjewar; and Shriram Satpute, who discussed various consumer-related issues with Tavade.
These measures are aimed at improving the efficiency and responsiveness of the Consumer Forum in handling disputes and providing timely resolutions.
