Voters heading to the polling stations for the upcoming Assembly elections must carry a valid identification document. The Election Commission has listed the following documents as acceptable proof of identity:
- EPIC (Voter ID card)
- Passport
- PAN Card
- Aadhaar Card
- Driving License
- Service ID Cards with photos issued by the Central/State Government, PSUs, or public limited companies.
- Passbook with Photo issued by a bank or post office.
- Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the Labour Ministry’s scheme.
- Smart Card issued by the Registrar General of India under the National Population Register (NPR).
- Pension Document with Photo
- MGNREGA Job Card (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act).
- Official ID Card issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs.
It is important to note that the Photo Voter Slip will not be accepted as a standalone identity document. Voters are urged to ensure they carry any one of the approved IDs to cast their vote without hassle.
