Polling for the Maharashtra Assembly elections started today at 7 AM, with the Election Commission and police ensuring everything was ready for smooth voting. However, there were some technical issues that caused delays in a few areas.
In Nagpur, EVM malfunctions were reported early in the day. At booth number 182 in the Veterinary College, part of the West Nagpur Assembly constituency, the EVM was not working for over 20 minutes, causing a delay. Many voters who had arrived early had to wait until the issue was fixed. Women and senior citizens were among those who had to wait outside the booth.
Other constituencies in Nagpur also reported problems with voting machines. In Imamwada, a voter found their name missing from the electoral list. Interestingly, their husband’s name was on the list, and even their late father-in-law’s name was included.
The election is a tough competition between the Mahayuti and the Maha Vikas Aghadi. The results will be announced after the vote counting on November 23. It will soon be clear whether the Mahayuti or Maha Vikas Aghadi will form the government, or if a coalition government will take shape.
