The seventh edition of the Nagpur Marathon is set to be held on January 5, 2025, at the Institute of Science College, Civil Lines. Race Director Mitesh Rambhia, representing Adventure And You, shared the details during a press briefing.
The marathon will feature six categories, including a 42 km full marathon and 1.5 km, 3 km, 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km runs, catering to participants of all abilities. “Over 2,300 participants have already registered, and we expect the number to exceed 6,000,” Rambhia revealed. The 1.5 km race is exclusively reserved for specially-abled participants, free of charge. Additionally, personnel from armed forces, police, and other uniformed services can join any category without paying the entry fee.
For other participants, entry fees are set at Rs 300 for 3 km, Rs 500 for 5 km, Rs 1,000 for 10 km, Rs 1,500 for 21 km, and Rs 2,500 for 42 km. Registrations are open on Townscript until December 22, 2024.
Rambhia highlighted the use of RFID timing chips for the 10 km, 21 km, and 42 km categories to ensure precise timing. Participants in all categories will receive T-shirts, finisher medals, refreshments, and route support.
The two-day event will begin with an Expo Day on January 4, where the T-shirt design and sponsor details will be unveiled. “The marathon is not just a race but a celebration of fitness and community. It attracts participants from Vidarbha, Jabalpur, Mumbai, and beyond,” said Rambhia.
Ashish Agrawal and Nivedita Agrawal, also present at the press meet, described the event as a vibrant display of health, endurance, and community spirit.
