Nagpur: In an effort to streamline traffic and enhance commuter convenience, the Nagpur Traffic Police Department has introduced changes to signal operations at select city intersections. The initiative, implemented during off-peak hours, aims to address varying traffic volumes while reducing unnecessary delays and fuel consumption.
Signals at intersections with lower traffic density will now switch to blinker mode (yellow/amber light) between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM, a period identified for minimal vehicular movement. This adjustment allows vehicles to proceed cautiously without halting unnecessarily, saving time and fuel.
To ensure safety, the Traffic Police have enforced a 20 km/h speed limit at these intersections during the blinker mode hours.
