In yet another theft incident at The Raj Royale Lawn and Banquets on Jabalpur Road, New Kamptee, a bag containing valuables worth ₹4.5 lakh was stolen during a wedding on December 5, Thursday. This marks the second such incident reported from the venue within a week.
The complainant, Jyoti Vasant Nakhale (55), a resident of Venkatesh Colony near SRPF Camp, Wadali Naka, Amravati, was attending her son’s wedding. She had placed her handbag near the stage while taking photographs with relatives. The bag reportedly contained gold jewelry, ₹75,000 in cash, a mobile phone, two ATM cards, Aadhaar card, PAN card, and other items.
Upon realizing the bag was missing, Nakhale approached the police. The New Kamptee Police registered an offense under Section 303(2) of the BNS against an unidentified accused.
Authorities are investigating the theft, which follows a similar incident at the same venue, raising concerns about security measures at the establishment.
