Nagpur: Acting on credible information, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Crime Branch raided Fusion Cafe in Dharampeth on December 10, 2024. The raid uncovered illegal activities involving the supply of prohibited tobacco-based hookah products to customers.
The accused, Mayank Gaurishankar Agarwal (40), a resident of Plot No. 324, Khapripura, Itwari, Nagpur, was detained during the operation. Hookah-related materials valued at ₹58,502 were seized from the cafe.
A case has been filed under Sections 4 and 5(1)(2) of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003, and relevant provisions of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act, 2018, at Sitabuldi Police Station. The accused and seized items are now in police custody for further legal action.
These back-to-back raids reflect the police’s unwavering vigilance in curbing illegal hookah parlors in the city.
