The 112th convocation of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University will be held at the National Fire Service College auditorium, Raj Nagar, Nagpur at 12 noon on December 16. Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of the university C P Radhakrishnan will preside over. Officiating Vice-Chancellor Dr Prashant Bokare, Deans of all the faculties and members of the Management Council will be present on the dais. The convocation is being held for students who have passed in winter 2023 and summer 2024 examinations.
A total of 1,03,303 students will be awarded degrees and diplomas, which include 84,310 bachelor’s degrees, 18,772 master’s degree. The faculty-wise distribution of degrees to be awarded is – Science and Technology – 37,967’ Commerce and Management – 25,141; Humanities – 24,160, Inter-disciplinary – 8,522; Autonomous colleges students- 6,587, and Diploma – 755.
The university will award 193 gold medals, eight silver medals and 26 cash awards to 143 students.
Githu Hanna John of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Law College, Deekshabhoomi for BALLB (5-years) is the highest medal winner – six gold medals and two prizes. Pragati Ramesh Chhatwani of NMD College, Gondia (MBA) will receive six gold medals; Rupali Kewalram Deshoande of Dr Madhukar Wasnik PWS College (MA Marathi) stands third and will receive four gold medals and a prize. Nutan Pandurang Ingole (MA Pali Prakrity), Ajay Sukhdev Narange (MA – Dr Ambedkar Thoughts) will also receive four gold medals and a prize.
The university will award 221 PhDs – 90 in Science and Technology; 52 in Commerce and Management; 69 in Humanities and 10 in Indter-disciplinary faculties. One students will be awarded M Arch by Research degree.
