Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced in Parliament today that the National Testing Agency (NTA) will only conduct entrance exams for higher education institutions starting in 2025, excluding recruitment exams. He also mentioned that the government is exploring the shift to computer adaptive tests and tech-driven entrance exams in the near future. Additionally, Pradhan revealed that the NTA will be restructured in 2025, with the creation of 10 new posts as part of the exam reforms.
He said that talks are on with Health Ministry on whether to conduct NEET-UG in pen-paper mode or online.
These announcements comes after when alleged NEET UG paper leak rocked the nation. The then NTA chief Subodh Kumar Singh was transferred.
In July, the Supreme Court dismissed the petition demanding cancellation and re-test of NEET UG 2024 exam.
