Acting on a tip-off, police teams from Bajaj Nagar and Pratap Nagar stations raided Corner House Restaurant, Bajaj Nagar Square, and Suryakant Saoji Restaurant, Trimurti Nagar Square, on December 18, uncovering illegal alcohol consumption. Two accused, Prajwal Vijay Hatwar (Imamwada) and Nitikesh alias Golu Tejram Battase (Old Mangalwari), were apprehended.
From Corner House, police seized partially consumed and sealed liquor bottles, including Jameson Whiskey, Ballantine’s Scotch, Old Monk Rum, Royal Stag Whiskey, and disposable glasses, valued at ₹3,370. At Suryakant Saoji, items seized included partially consumed bottles of Black & White and William Lawson Whiskey, plastic furniture, worth ₹1,420.
The operation, supervised by DCP Lohit Matani and ACP Ashok Shelke, was conducted by a team of officers who registered offenses under Section 68 of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act. Both establishments were found providing illegal spaces for liquor consumption.
