Renowned playback singer and Padma Bhushan awardee Udit Narayan captivated a massive audience during his live performance on the ninth day of the ongoing Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav 2024. The packed stadium bore testimony to the singer’s enduring charm and widespread popularity.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, along with dignitaries such as Manoj Suryavanshi, former Chairman of Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT); Vaibhav Maheshwari; and Suresh Sharma of Baidyanath, graced the occasion.
The audience welcomed Narayan with mobile phone flashlights, creating a glowing spectacle as the singer made a grand entrance singing his iconic hit, “Papa Kehte Hain.” He followed up with a medley of timeless classics, including “Ruk Jaa O Dil Deewane,” “Jaadu Teri Nazar,” “Pehla Nasha,” and “Ae Mere Humsafar.” The crowd swayed to the rhythm, waving their illuminated phones, creating a magical atmosphere.
During the performance, Narayan fondly remembered Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar, reminiscing about recording songs with the legendary singer.
The day began with an elegant classical dance performance by sisters Mrunmayee and Sanskriti Dagwar on the song “Mere Dholna Sun.” Other dancers, including Ovi Puranik, Kartiki Lohkare, Vaidehi Shrivastav, Kanak Raut, and Surbhi Kshirsagar, also showcased their talents. The proceedings were hosted by Balasaheb Kulkarni and Renuka Deshkar.
