Two unidentified men were found dead under separate circumstances in Nagpur’s Tehsil and Imamwada areas, sparking concerns about the ongoing cold wave in the city on Monday.
In the first case, a man believed to be around 50 years old was found unconscious near the roadside in front of Gupta Developers, Hansapuri, within Tehsil Police Station limits. The incident occurred around 12:15 PM. He was immediately transported to Mayo Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Following a complaint by Raju Suresh Rathod (33), a local resident, the Tehsil Police registered a case of accidental death.
The second incident was reported around 4:15 PM near Saraswati Shishu Mandir in the Rajabaksha area under Imamwada Police Station limits. A man, aged between 60 and 65 years, was found unconscious at the location. He was taken to Medical Hospital, where doctors confirmed his death. Imamwada Police, based on medical advice, have also registered a case of accidental death, with Head Constable Bhogade leading the investigation.
While the exact causes of death are yet to be determined, the incidents coincide with the city experiencing extreme cold weather. Authorities have urged the public, particularly the homeless and vulnerable, to take necessary precautions and seek shelter during this period.
