Nagpur: In a determined effort to recover property tax arrears, Additional Commissioner Aanchal Goyal has ordered swift action against defaulters. Acting on her directives, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has identified 954 defaulters across its ten zones, collectively owing a staggering ₹725 crore in unpaid property taxes.
As part of the recovery drive, the NMC has issued warrants to collect outstanding dues. The Municipal Officer of City Administration (MOCA) recovery team has already acted against 71 defaulters, seizing properties worth ₹52 lakh. Additionally, warrants have been executed against 610 defaulters, leading to the confiscation of immovable assets valued at ₹4.45 crore.
The property tax department has pledged to continue its efforts by seizing both movable and immovable properties of defaulters daily. This rigorous drive aims to bring down the mounting arrears and ensure compliance among property owners.
