Tickets for international cricket matches, especially T20s and ODIs, usually sell out in minutes. However, the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) has shown remarkable generosity. They are offering a significant portion of tickets to school students at a token price.
For the India vs. England first ODI at Jamtha on February 6, regular ticket prices range from Rs 800 to Rs 10,000. But VCA is giving students the chance to attend for just Rs 100.
This gesture becomes even more special as the stadium is hosting an international match after six years. The Jamtha stadium, with a seating capacity of around 44,000, has reserved approximately 7,000 seats exclusively for students, making the offer even more appealing.
Tickets for school students will be sold exclusively through their respective schools on a first-come, first-served basis. Seats for these students have been reserved in the West Stand (1st floor).
Schools will need to email their applications, and VCA will review them and allocate the seats.
As per a local daily report, “In addition, we are offering 50-60 seats free of charge to students from a couple of orphanages in the city. We will also take care of their transport and food during the match,” said Farokh Dastoor, Chief Executive Officer of VCA.
