A massive fire broke out in the Sector 22 area of Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj district on Thursday afternoon. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or casualties. Fire brigade personnel arrived quickly and have managed to control the blaze.
Senior officials are at the scene, assessing the situation. Early reports indicate that no people were present in the tent area when the fire occurred.
This follows a similar incident on January 19, when two cylinders exploded inside a tent, sparking a massive fire that engulfed at least 100 tents. Fortunately, there were no casualties in that event either.
The fire was quickly brought under control during both incidents, with fire tenders already stationed at the Mela ground.
Pramod Sharma, an official from the UP Fire Department, confirmed, “We received information about the fire at Chatnag Ghat Police Station and immediately dispatched fire tenders to control the situation. The fire originated in an unauthorized tent erected at the site. The fire is now under control, and there were no injuries or casualties.”
