Swaraj Mishra in Boys & Amoli Pradhan in Girls are the overall Winners of 1st Vibgyor World Interschool Chess Tournament, BVM Ashti takes away the Best School Shield
Swaraj Mishra in Boys & Amoli Pradhan in Girls emerged as the overall Winners of 1st Vibgyor World Interschool Chess Tournament held at Vibgyor World Academy, Near Jhansi Rani Metro Station, Nagpur on BVM Ashti takes away the Best School Shield. The event was organised by Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation and was recognised by Chess Association Nagpur.
In the Under-15 Group, Shourya Ambone was adjudged first in Boys Group whereas Asad Zafira was Best Under 15 girl. Ved Phaur was Best Under-11 Boys player and Swara Gandhi bagged the Best Under-11 Girl prize. Best Under-9 Boys player award went to Dhawal Deshmukh while Gargi Harkare got the Best Under-9 prize in girls group.
BVM Ashti School consisting of Rishik Lekhi, Manas Karnase, Anurag Bagdi and Swara Gandhi bagged Best School Shield. The Second Best School Award went to Somalwar Nikalas School having players Rudra Dhole, Ayush Phating, Gargi Harkare and Anushka Deshpande. BVM Shrikrishnagar School got the third best school prize with players Jay Sawalakhe, Atharva Goenka, Kavya Bagdia and Jeet atul Jain.
Prizes were distributed at the hands of Shri S. S. Soman, Superintendent, CGST Nagpur who is also the Member of MCA Observer Committee. M/s Trupti Parekh, Cluster Principal of Vibgyor World Academy, Shri Bhushan Shriwas, Secretary of Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation and Secretary of Chess Association Nagpur and FA Shiva Iyer, Chief Arbiter shared the dias. Ms Ketal Kothari of Vibgyor World Academy compered the programme, announced the names of Winners and proposed the vote of thanks.
Trophies were distributed to all the individual winners whereas the Best Schools winners got the attractive Shields as prizes.
215 chess players participated in the event which included 61 FIDE rated players.
FA Shiva Iyer was the Chief Arbiter who was assisted by SNA Prayas Ambade, FA Bharti Dhote, SNA Akash rewatkar , FA Amit Tembhurne , SNA shrikant Bagde and Prathamesh machave.
