Virat Kohli will not play in the first ODI between India and England in Nagpur due to a knee injury. He sustained the injury during training on the eve of the match and was spotted wearing a knee strap on the field.
Rohit Sharma confirmed Kohli’s unavailability at the toss, with Yashasvi Jaiswal replacing him and making his ODI debut.
The management remains hopeful that the injury isn’t serious enough to keep Kohli out for long, especially with the Champions Trophy 2025 approaching. This could be a precautionary measure to prevent the injury from worsening.
