Ganeshpeth Police have registered a case against two individuals for allegedly duping a youth and his friend of ₹3.32 lakh by promising them jobs in Nagpur Metro.
The complainant, Deepak Moreswar Kolhe (24), a resident of Kelvad in Saoner taluka, Nagpur district, met the accused, Abhay Nathooji Dhore (25) from Chandrapur, currently residing in Ganeshpeth, during a pre-apprenticeship training program. Dhore claimed to have connections for securing positions such as ticket checkers, ticket counter executives, and security guards in Nagpur Metro. He demanded ₹2.5 lakh per candidate for job placements.
Kolhe and his friend Anant Sathavane paid a total of ₹3.32 lakh through PhonePe. However, despite repeated follow-ups, Dhore failed to secure the promised jobs and instead directed them to his accomplice, Ashwin Upase, who also evaded their queries. Neither accused returned the money nor fulfilled their promise.
Based on Kolhe’s complaint, Ganeshpeth Police have registered a case under Sections 318(4) and 3(5) of the BNS.
