The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced plans to establish a new Taj Hotel in Nagpur, following a request by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during a ceremony in Mumbai on Monday.
Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, confirmed the development, emphasizing the group’s commitment to expanding its presence in Maharashtra. He also revealed plans for upcoming projects in Sindhudurg, highlighting the company’s growth strategy in key locations across the state.
In addition to the Taj Hotel, IHCL will introduce a second Ginger Hotel in Nagpur. The city already hosts one Ginger property, and the new venture aims to meet the increasing demand for premium hospitality services.
CM Fadnavis expressed appreciation for IHCL’s swift decision, praising the Taj Group for its legacy in the hospitality sector. “This hotel will elevate Nagpur’s profile and provide world-class services to its residents and visitors,” he remarked.
The announcement is seen as a significant boost to Nagpur’s hospitality landscape and aligns with IHCL’s broader expansion strategy in Maharashtra.
