Five-time champions Mumbai Indians unveiled their jersey for IPL 2025 on Friday as they aim for a sixth title after a disappointing IPL 2024 season.
Skipper Hardik Pandya shared a heartfelt message with fans during the launch, vowing to uphold the franchise’s proud legacy. The team’s core remains strong with former captain Rohit Sharma, star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, and Tilak Varma.
Mumbai Indians, who clinched their fifth IPL title in 2020, will aim for a record sixth championship as the new season kicks off on March 22.
“Dear Paltan, 2025 is our opportunity to bring the legacy where it belongs. With the blue & gold on us, we will take the field to Play like Mumbai. This is not just our jersey. This is a promise to you. Chala bhetu, Wankhede la (Let’s meet at Wankhede),” Pandya said.
Mumbai Indians’ IPL 2025 jersey stays true to its iconic blue and gold colors, reflecting the franchise’s spirit. “Blue represents trust, confidence, and the team’s boundless potential, while gold signifies glory, achievement, and the relentless pursuit of excellence,” the team stated in a release.
Mumbai will kick off their campaign against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, March 23, in an evening clash.
After their opening match against Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians will have a six-day break before facing Gujarat Titans on March 29 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Notably, Hardik Pandya led Gujarat to the IPL title in 2022.
Mumbai will then return home for their first match at the Wankhede Stadium, where they will take on defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders on March 31.
Mumbai Indians will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru at home on April 7 in an exciting Rohit Sharma vs Virat Kohli showdown. They will face Chennai Super Kings again on April 20 in another high-stakes evening clash at Wankhede Stadium.
After a disappointing IPL 2024 season, where they finished last with just four wins in 14 matches, Mumbai Indians will be aiming for redemption in IPL 2025.
