Nagpur: Yashodharanagar police apprehended three individuals and seized MD drugs and other goods worth ₹4 lakh following a high-speed chase near HCG Hospital late on Sunday night.
The accused, identified as Murtaza Ansari (43), Mohammad Saddam Mansur (19), and Mohammad Wasim Mansur (21), were traveling in an auto-rickshaw (MH 49 D 1099) when police signaled them to stop. Instead of complying, the driver attempted to flee, leading to a chase.
Upon interception, a thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 16.95 grams of MD powder concealed under the driver’s seat. Authorities also confiscated ₹16,000 in cash, three mobile phones, and clothing materials, bringing the total seized items to ₹4,00,750.
A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway to determine the source and intended distribution of the narcotics.
