The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will hold a series of events on February 27 to educate residents about the importance of rivers. This initiative is part of a campaign by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Conservation under the National River Conservation Directorate Programme. The campaign aims to raise awareness among citizens through various activities focused on river conservation.
The NMC is actively working on river cleaning efforts. On Thursday, the Garden Department will conduct tree plantation along riverbanks and nearby areas. The Sports and Cultural Department has planned a morning yoga session at Godrej Anandam and an evening flute performance at Futala. Meanwhile, the Education Department will host book reading sessions, essay competitions, painting contests, and rangoli competitions to engage the community.
