The hearing of the local bodies election of the state has been postponed again. The case was to be heard in the Supreme Court today on Tuesday. However, the date of hearing was extended. The Court will hear the case after the summer vacation.
Due to the lack of elections in many municipalities, district councils and panchayats including Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur Municipal Corporation, there is administrator rule. The case of OBC reservation in local bodies is pending in the Supreme Court, in which it has to be decided whether to give 27 percent reservation to OBCs in these municipalities and bodies or not. Due to which elections have not been held for the last three years.
At the same time, the hearing on the case in the Supreme Court is continuously going ahead. The case was to be heard in the Supreme Court today on Tuesday, however, it was postponed due to some reasons. At the same time, the Supreme Court has said to hear the case after the holidays in view of the summer.
