The Maharashtra government has decided to waive the Rs. 500 stamp duty. This Stamp duty previously required for submitting affidavits for various certificates such as caste verification, income certificates, residence certificates, non-criminal certificates, nationality certificates, and other similar documents that are filed with government offices.
Currently, with the ongoing 10th and 12th exams, there is a rush among students and parents to gather all necessary certificates once the results are declared. Until now, parents had to bear a cost of at least Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 4,000 for these certificates.
Now parents can obtain these certificates simply by submitting a self-attested application at the Tehsil office without the need to pay any stamp duty.
This decision is not only beneficial for educational purposes but will also help citizens who need these certificates for other various reasons. The implementation of this decision will benefit millions of citizens across the state.
Instructions for the immediate implementation of this decision have been issued to the administration by the Revenue Department.
