A 36-year-old woman, a mother of three, was once again apprehended along with a 16-year-old boy in Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh, after fleeing together for the second time. The two were reportedly in a relationship and had previously eloped from Nagpur. The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Nagpur Crime Branch successfully tracked them down using technical surveillance and intelligence inputs.
The boy’s 46-year-old father, a resident of Wathoda, filed a missing complaint on December 2, 2024, after his son failed to return home. The teenager had left home claiming he was going to college but never came back. After an extensive but unsuccessful search, the family approached Wathoda Police, who registered a case under Section 137(2) of the BNS against an unidentified suspect for allegedly luring and abducting the minor.
Following an investigation, the AHTU team traced the boy to Balaghat. Upon reaching the location, police found him in the company of the same 36-year-old woman who had previously eloped with him. Both were taken into custody and, after counseling, were handed over to Wathoda Police for further legal proceedings.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of CP Ravinder Kumar Singal, Additional CP (Crime) Sanjay Patil, DCP (Detection) Rahul Maknikar, and ACP (Crime) Abhijit Patil, with assistance from PI Lalita Todase, API Gajendra Singh Thakur, and their team.
