In a world where kindness often goes unnoticed, Seema Patne, a 44-year-old housewife and social worker, has been quietly making a difference for over a decade. Every day, she provides free meals to patients and their families outside Government Medical College and Hospital, Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital, and Super Specialty Hospital. Inspired by her parents, Mrs. Sangeeta Dubey and the late Mr. Ganeshprasad Dubey, she carries out this mission with the support of friends, funding it entirely on their own.
A Mission of Love and Determination
Patne’s journey began ten years ago when she saw the struggles of families trying to secure a proper meal. Moved by their hardships, she started cooking and distributing food, ensuring no one went hungry. “Food is a basic need, and no one should be deprived of it,” she says.
Challenges and Commitment
Without any NGO or government support, Patne and her friends personally contribute to purchasing ingredients and preparing nutritious meals. Despite transportation challenges, they use their scooties to deliver food, making multiple trips if necessary.
Women’s Day Message
Encouraging women to take action, Patne says, “Believe in yourself and take the first step. Change starts with one person, but it grows when others join in.”
Her story is a testament to compassion and determination, proving that small efforts can bring hope to many.
