Tensions escalated in Nagpur’s Hansapuri area after unidentified individuals vandalized shops, set vehicles on fire, and pelted stones, intensifying unrest that began with a clash in the Mahal area. The earlier violence had already put the city on edge, reports suggest.
An eyewitness from Hansapuri described the attack, stating that a masked group armed with weapons, stickers, and bottles unleashed chaos. “A team came here, their faces were hidden with scarves. They had sharp weapons, stickers, and bottles in their hands. They started the ruckus, vandalized shops, and pelted stones. They also torched vehicles,” the witness said.
Another resident confirmed the extent of the destruction. “They vandalized shops… they set fire to 8-10 vehicles,” he added.
