Publication of Vedic Mathematics Volumes

Various sciences developed in India are fundamentally based on mathematics. Through the volumes of Vedic Mathematics, this knowledge will be newly introduced to society. It is essential to pass on the importance and applications of Vedic Mathematics to future generations. To facilitate this, a Center of Excellence for Vedic Mathematics should be established at Bharati Krishna Vidya Vihar, and the government will provide full support for this initiative, stated Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today.
At Bharati Krishna Vidya Vihar School, operated by the Vishva Punarirman Sangh, two volumes of Vedic Mathematics written by Adi Shankaracharya Krishna Tirtha Maharaj were released by RSS Chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Vishva Punarirman Sangh President Prafullakumar Kale, General Secretary Shailesh Joglekar, and other members of the governing body were also present at the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Fadnavis emphasized that ancient Indian culture has developed many significant sciences. However, due to historical circumstances and foreign invasions, this knowledge could not be widely disseminated. Adi Shankaracharya Krishna Tirtha Maharaj studied Vedic hymns and systematically structured mathematical principles in a simplified manner in the volumes of Vedic Mathematics. These books have been included in the curriculum for classes 5 to 7 under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Through these volumes, Shankaracharya has rediscovered the vast repository of knowledge present in the Vedas. Vedic Mathematics is a significant intellectual treasure of India, and research and preservation efforts should be undertaken for it. Therefore, a Center of Excellence for Vedic Mathematics should be established at Bharati Krishna Vidya Vihar, he asserted. He also mentioned that the state’s education department would consider introducing Vedic Mathematics to students through a positive approach.
RSS Chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat highlighted the crucial role of calculations and numerical data in various aspects of life. He explained the importance of mathematics by referencing Sankhya Darshan, coordinate geometry, and historical examples from the Nala-Damayanti tale and the Mahabharata. He stated that the philosophy of Vedic Mathematics, derived from ancient Indian traditions, aims at global welfare. In the ongoing spiritual transformations and restructuring happening worldwide, Vedic Mathematics can play a vital role and contribute significantly to making the world prosperous and harmonious.
Vishva Punarirman Sangh President Prafullakumar Kale delivered the welcome address, while General Secretary Shailesh Joglekar gave the vote of thanks.
