Nagpur: In a shocking incident on Ramzan Eid, a 68-year-old man in Nandanvan was threatened and extorted by a local resident who demanded ₹10,000, warning him of dire consequences if he refused.
According to police, the victim, Syed Hussain Mohammad Naqvi, a resident of Sadbhavan Nagar, was standing outside his house around 8 PM on March 31 when the accused, Armaan Malik alias Rauf Khan (32), approached him. Malik allegedly asked for money to buy alcohol, and when Naqvi refused, he verbally abused him and threatened to kill him unless he paid ₹10,000.
Before fleeing, Malik forcibly took ₹200 from Naqvi’s pocket. The elderly man later filed a complaint at Nandanvan police station, leading to a swift investigation.
Police tracked down the accused and apprehended him. Further investigations into the case are underway.
