The work on the bridge on the Nag river on Ambazari Ghat is being relaid. The existing bridge has been demolished. The Municipal Commissioner Dr Abhijit Chaudhari has directed the authorities to carry out the work on a war footing. The work on the construction of a protective wall on the banks of the river should also begin before the coming monsoon season, Dr Chaudhari has instructed.
The bridge in a dilapidated condition has been demolished an arch-shaped 27-meter-long bridge will be constructed. Dr Chaudhari, along with PWD Superintending Engineer Manoj Talewar, Executive Engineer Vijay Gurbaxani, and others, inspected the site on Tuesday.
The bridge will be constructed in a single span without any pillars in the river. The flow of the river will not be obstructed. A solid protection will also be constructed to prevent the spillage of river water into the residential area.
Dr Chaudhari issued instructions to complete the work before the monsoon to avoid any inconvenience to the residents in the vicinity.
