Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) hosted a seminar on “Opportunities and Challenges in and around Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (IB Code)” at VIA Auditorium, Nagpur, on March 29, 2025 which drew a diverse audience of businessmen and professionals.
Renowned experts from the industry shed light on the fundamental concepts and challenges of the IB Code from multiple perspectives, including covering perspectives from Creditor’s point of view, MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) and Companies/Corporate Debtors.

Sanjeev Pandey, a distinguished expert with a versatile background, shared his insights on the evolution and journey of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy (IB) Code. With his extensive experience as former Dy General Manager (DGM) at State Bank of India (SBI), Former DGM at the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), Presently, a consultant at DSK Legal, Founder of Bharat Business Bridge (BBB).
Key highlights from his discussion were, evolution of the IB Code, efficient resolution. He emphasized how the IB Code enabled quicker resolution or dissolution of cases, compared to previous laws, thereby providing relief to Financial creditors, Operational creditors and Corporate Debtors/ Companies, too. His expertise and experience provided a unique perspective on the IB Code’s effectiveness in resolving insolvency cases and its benefits for various stakeholders.
Sanjeev Ahuja, a renowned expert in insolvency resolution, emphasized the importance of understanding the Insolvency and Bankruptcy (IB) Code, effective mediation, and its outcomes. As the President of Missing Bridge and founder of Bharat Business Bridge (BBB), he stressed that once individual insolvency provisions are implemented, it’s crucial for everyone, including businessmen, to be aware of these laws.
His expertise in insolvency resolution is well-established, having been a Registered Insolvency Professional with the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Board of India since 2017. His insights highlight the need for individuals and businesses to stay informed about the IB Code and its implications.
