The UNNATI – A Personal Growth & Skill Development Programme is a prestigious six-month initiative jointly conducted by Dr Ambedkar College, Nagpur, and Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA), Nagpur, in which several various sessions on Communication Skills, Image Building, Leadership, and other essential professional skills, conducted by a diverse group of experts, professionals, and entrepreneurs. Undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Arts, Commerce, and Science streams actively participated. Over the past 22 years, many students have benefited from this programme, which has become a hallmark of personal and professional development. The Concluding and Award Distribution Function was organized recently to mark the successful completion of the programme.
CA Naresh Jakhotia, Chief Guest at the concluding function, addressed the students and shared his insights on career success. He emphasized that while academic qualifications are essential, they alone do not guarantee employment. He highlighted other factors, such as attitude towards change and success, curiosity, and a zeal to excel, are crucial in securing a job. He encouraged students to pursue hands-on training, internships, and personality development programs, which are vital for securing a position in a reputed company or starting their own business.
Dr (Mrs.) Deepa Panhekar, Principal of Dr Ambedkar College, in her welcome address, highlighted the college’s continuous efforts toward the all-round development of its students. She mentioned that the college is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee Year and urged students to actively participate in various college activities to gain better exposure and build confidence.
CS Dr Akhil Ramteke, Faculty of Commerce & Coordinator of the UNNATI Cell, delivered the introductory remarks and expressed his gratitude to the Principal and Management for giving him the opportunity to coordinate the UNNATI Cell. He shared his experiences of handling various sessions during the academic year 2024-25.
Neelam Bowade, Convener of VIA HRD Forum and VIA Coordinator for the UNNATI Cell, was the Guest of Honor. In her address, she provided valuable tips to the students on career success and inspired them with the famous quote by Swami Vivekananda: “Arise, Awake, and Stop not till the goal is reached.”
Kumar Zilpelwar, renowned Corporate Trainer and Pilot Faculty of UNNATI, shared his insights as a core faculty member. He emphasized that consistency is the key to success, whether in studies or in any job. He encouraged students to believe in themselves, as self-belief is the crucial factor for achieving success.
This year, two new competitions were introduced – The Best Student Personality Award and Orator of the Year Award
The winners were
• Best Male Student Personality: Adarsh Nimsarkar (M.Com – 1st Year)
• Best Female Student Personality: Ku. Khushi Tiwari (B.Com – 1st Year)
• Orator of the Year 2025: Prasad Kumbhare (B.Sc. Biotech – 1st Year)
Additionally, students who attended more than 75% of the sessions were awarded the Best Participant Award in recognition of their dedication and punctuality.
The event was attended by Neelam Bowade, Convenor of the VIA HRD Forum; Kumar Zilpelwar, renowned Corporate Trainer and Pilot Faculty for UNNATI; Dr. (Mrs.) Deepa Panhekar, Principal of the College; CS Dr. Akhil Ramteke, UNNATI Cell Coordinator; and other members of the UNNATI team, including Rita Lakkakul, Rohini Meshram, Shama Khan, and Kajal Gaikwad.
The event saw active participation from all faculty members and students of the college, marking a grand conclusion to another successful year of the UNNATI programme.
