The honorarium for the Aadhar Centre Operators has been increased from Rs 20 to Rs 50 per Aadhar registration. The information was given by Minister for Technical Information Dr Ashish Shelar.
Following demand for providing modern equipment at the centres, the state government is providing them with equipment and a modern information system, Dr Shelar said. So far, 100 new sets have been added to the Aadhar Centres in Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburbs, he added.
So far, 12.50 crore Aadhar cards have been registered. The registration of children between zero to five years of age is 39 percent, while biometric registration for children between 5 to 17 is very slow. The target is to achieve the target in the next three months. The Aadhar Centres will get cash prizes for achieving the targets, Dr Shelar said.
