To mark its first anniversary, Samsara Cancer Care, a holistic and specialized cancer facility in Laxmi Nagar, Nagpur, hosted a free breast cancer screening camp exclusively for women. The initiative, held on April 12, 2025, was both a medical outreach and a statement as the best cancer clinic in Nagpur with its core belief: that women deserve safe, dignified, and compassionate care.

The camp screened 111 women, most of whom were first-time participants in any kind of breast screening. The drive was personally led by Dr. Sameeksha Dubey, Central India’s Only Qualified Female Medical Oncologist. With more than ten years of experience in oncology, Dr. Dubey, Nagpur’s Best Oncologist, has been a vocal advocate for gender-sensitive cancer care in Central India, both in treatment and in the environment in which it is delivered.
“Far too often, we see women neglecting their own health while taking care of their families. They put themselves last. We wanted to dedicate this day to those women — to tell them, ‘You matter,’ ” said Dr. Dubey, speaking from the screening site.
A Women-Centered Environment
One of the standout aspects of the screening drive was the presence of an all-women team, including the best oncologist, technicians, and nursing staff, aimed at making the process as comfortable for participants coming from conservative backgrounds.
Samsara Cancer Care has made this environment a priority. From infrastructure to patient protocols, the hospital emphasizes patient privacy, trust, and approachability, particularly important for female patients seeking cancer care, where emotional and physical vulnerability can be high. For many women, these concerns are a major reason they delay or avoid screenings altogether.
But the effort seems to have paid off.
“Main Samsara clinic mein free check-up ke liye aayithi. Mujhe yahan ka overall experience bahut acchalaga. Staff bahut hi supporting hai. Pura ladies staff hai, isliye bahut comfortable feel hua,” said Bhagyashree, one of the 111 women who came in for screening during the camp.
Painless, Radiation-Free Screening
Adding to this patient-first approach was the use of the iBreast device — a portable, painless, and radiation-free tool. Unlike mammograms, which can sometimes be uncomfortable or intimidating, iBreast allows for a simpler experience, making it easier for first-timers to undergo a check-up.
It’s non-invasive and mobile, especially in a camp setting. It doesn’t need big machines or long prep, while being quick, safe, and helping reduce fear around screening.
For many women who attended, this was their first-ever breast health check. Some were surprised by how quick and non-invasive the process was. The screening was over in a few minutes, and the team focused on making the procedure pain-free for screeners.
A Holistic Approach to Cancer Care
Since its launch in 2024, Samsara Cancer Care has focused on providing more than just medical treatment. The facility offers a comprehensive and holistic cancer care model — from diagnosis to recovery — combining clinical oncology with support services like nutrition guidance, counselling, physiotherapy, and post-treatment care.
What makes this model especially beneficial for women is its recognition of the unique socio-cultural pressures and health challenges they face during and after cancer treatment.
Rehabilitation at Samsara is not an afterthought, but a structured, multidisciplinary program. It includes well-thought-out services like breast prosthesis counselling, mental health counselling, and family-inclusive workshops. Of course, this is all handled by trained staff who specialize in post-treatment recovery.
“We often see that after surgery or chemotherapy, women face silent battles — body image issues, depression, isolation. It affects how a woman sees herself, how she interacts with her family, and how she feels emotionally,” says Dr. Sameeksha Dubey.. “We try to address those layers in a structured way.”
Samsara Clinic, under the expert guidance and support of Director, Dr. Sanjog Singh, wants to focus on early detection and awareness, especially in areas where cancer screening is either unaffordable or not readily available.
“This camp is just the beginning. Our goal is to build a cancer care ecosystem that reaches women where they are — even if that’s beyond city limits,” said Dr. Singh. “Awareness has to go hand-in-hand with accessibility. That’s where real impact lies.”
Building for the Long Term
Buoyed by the success of the anniversary drive, Samsara Cancer Care is now planning to take its screening and awareness efforts beyond its physical location. Plans are in progress where the doctors and staff will hold more such drives, mobile screening units, and partner with local organizations to reach more women in semi-urban and rural areas around Nagpur.
Dr. Sanjog Singh, Director of Samsara Cancer Care, reinforced the hospital’s long-term vision –
“If more women come forward for early checks, we can catch cancer in its early stages — when it’s most treatable. That’s the goal,” said Dr.Singh.
One Year In, A Steady Start
In just one year, Samsara Cancer Care has established itself as a center of patient-first oncology centre, with a strong focus on women’s health. While still growing, the hospital has drawn attention as the best cancer clinics in Nagpur because of its patient-first approach and its effort to bridge the gap between high-quality care and a supportive environment.
The screening drive, although modest in scale, reflects the larger values the hospital was built on — to be approachable, responsive, and tailored to the real needs of patients.
As one participant put it: “I didn’t feel like just another patient here. I felt heard.”
